New York Inventor Awarded Medals in Recognition of Innovative Excellence for “The Beach Buddy” at America’s Largest Invention Show
PITTSBURGH, PA...INPEX, America’s Largest Invention Trade Show, awarded medals to Ricardo John, President of Roxie’s Shop Inc., (http://www.roxiesshop.com/), from Staten Island, N.Y., in recognition of innovative excellence in two categories for his invention of an expandable, convertible fashion tote bag for beach-goers. This patented invention was exhibited at INPEX, June 7-10, in Pittsburgh.
Hauling beach umbrellas, beach chairs, sunscreen lotion, towels, snacks, and other supplies to the beach can be a time-consuming struggle. “The Beach Buddy” saves time and effort allowing beach-goers the convenience to better enjoy the sand and surf. The Beach Buddy could be used to secure personal, valuable items, and expands to accommodate objects of various sizes.
Producible from 100% cotton terry, the bag expands into four different sizes, and it also converts into a waist bag, towel or blanket. The bag weighs less than a pound, and it can be carried over the arm, across the shoulder, or around the waist. Users can convert the bag into the desired form, place objects inside, and carry it to the beach, pool, spa, gym, boat, cruises, picnics, and Caribbean vacations. The inventors wanted to find a way to reduce the hassles of transporting bags and other items to the beach. “As an avid beach-goer who is very conscious of protecting my skin, I always carry sunscreen and a beach umbrella to prevent sunburn. I found it difficult and frustrating to carry these and other belongings,” said Bartolomeo. “I wanted to find a fast, easy, and hands-free way to transport my supplies so I could spend more time enjoying the beach.”
On Saturday, June 10, 2006, the International Jury awarded Ricardo John, President of Roxie's Shop, Inc. (http://www.roxiesshop.com/), a gold medal in recognition of innovative excellence in the category of Apparel / Accessories and a silver medal in the category of Novelties / Specialty Gifts for the display of the Beach Buddy.
